Elections: Fintiri declares Friday as holiday.

Umaru Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State, approved a holiday for state employees on Friday, March 17, 2023, ahead of Saturday’s elections.

According to a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Hunwashi Wonosoiku, workers were expected to use Friday to travel to their respective voting locations for the gubernatorial and state Assembly elections.

Governor Fintiri told his people, “This is the time to show more commitment and love for the state and ensure a peaceful democratic process by voting this Saturday” while praising their patience in the face of enormous challenges.

Nonetheless, the Governor emphasised that now is the time for all eligible voters to vote.
