Adamawa Guber: Declare our candidate winner now, PDP tells INEC.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to announce the real results of the governorship election in Adamawa state right away and to name its candidate, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as the winner, since he got the most legal votes.
This is contained in a statement signed by the PDP Presidential & Governorship Campaign Council, Yola. Awwal Tukur, on Monday.
The statement below;
“The results from the polling places across the state showed that our candidate won the election by a large margin in most of the local government areas.” This was in line with what the people of the state wanted and wanted to see happen.”
“The PDP warns that the All Progressives Congress (APC), which lost, is working with the Adamawa state resident electoral commissioner, who has been tainted, to subvert the will of the people.”

Our attention had been drawn to a very deliberate and malicious attempt by the APC Secretariat in Abuja to smear Governor Ahamdu Fintiri, and at the same time create a false premise to announce Senator Binani as governor-elect of Adamawa state.
From what we know, the false claim coming from Abuja is not only false and sneaky, but it is also meant to steal the people’s freely given and earned mandate for Governor Fintiri. The APC national secretariat’s statement is also filled with the wrong kind of lies, to wit:
1. That Gov. Fintiri was at the collation centre where he took thugs and tampered with results. This claim is false and should be dispelled as an outright tissue of propaganda, and lies, and an insult to our collective sense of democratic responsibility. Rather, it was the APC and the INEC that worked out figures in Fufure and insincerely set the agents to change the result in favour of Binani. The facts are clear, and the voice notes from the INEC Adamawa State REC with the Fufore EO captured and readily in circulation by the media and also reported to the security agents are evident.
2. It is also a big lie that the PDP was or is currently engaged in any electoral malpractice in the state. Instead, it is the APC, at the national level, desperately working to entrench and change the results, thereby putting pressure on INEC in Adamawa State to declare results in favour of the losing APC candidate.
These facts, pictures, and further evidence are ready to be given out sooner than expected. Right now around the collation centre, APC thugs are visibly seen holding and wielding weapons to attack and cause mayhem.
The problem is that the APC at the national level is encouraging people in the state to not care about security at all. Now that tensions are high and people are upset, we expect that social responsibility will lead to Gov. Fintiri being recognised as the rightful governor of Adamawa state. If that doesn’t happen, we’ll have no choice but to take whatever steps are needed to claim our mandate in the state.
