NEMA publishes service delivery charter.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has released its service charter, which aims to increase efficiency and accountability in service delivery.

Mr. Mustapha Ahmed, Director-General of NEMA, and Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, National Coordinator of SERVICOM, unveiled the service charter on Wednesday at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

The event, according to Ahmed, is an important milestone for NEMA and disaster management in the country, spurring the agency to provide great services to vulnerable people and catastrophe victims in the country.
“I am proud to say that we have always worked hard to provide the best service possible.”

“However, we believe that there is always room for improvement, and we recognise that our customers, those in need, deserve the best.”
“It is therefore our responsibility to ensure that their needs are met efficiently and effectively during the time they require assistance,” he said.

The NEMA SERVICOM charter, according to the director-general, outlines the agency’s dedication to providing timely and accurate information, responding quickly to emergencies, and treating all citizens with respect and dignity.
He stated that the charter was an important step towards the agency’s goal of providing great service in an open, responsible, and enhanced manner.

Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of SERVICOM, also spoke and congratulated NEMA on the charter’s unveiling.
Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Head of Operations, SERVICOM, represented Akajemeli, who noted that the organisation must try to exceed public expectations as it carries out its objectives.

“The agency has taken the necessary steps; we implore you to justify public trust in the execution of your mandate,” she said.
