No alternative to peace in Taraba; Gov. Kefas tells CDS

Dr. Agbu Kefas, governor of Taraba State, has promised the Nigerian military his administration will do everything in its power to keep the peace in his state.

 

On Monday, while paying a courtesy call to Chief of Defence Staff General Chris Musa, the Governor made this announcement at Defence Headquarters.

 

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, praised the armed forces for their efforts to maintain peace and order in the state while paying a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff, General Chris Musa, at the Conference room of the Defence Headquarters Abuja.

 

Dr. Agbu Kefas reportedly warned the CDS that Ambazonians from neighbouring Cameroon had been posing a threat to areas of the state, especially the Kashimbilla neighbourhood of Takum, and he requested more troops to ensure the safety of the state.

 

He guaranteed that his administration will help the military in whatever way possible.

 

General Chris Musa, the head of the defence department, praised the Governor for taking office quickly to start delivering democratic benefits to the people.

 

The military, he told the Governor, will do all it takes to ensure calm in Taraba.

 

General Chris Musa has assured the people of the state that steps have been taken to counteract the Ambazonian menace in some regions.

 

The CDS was given a memento by Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas.
