Nigerians require strong governance, not palliatives

 Dr. Cosmas Ikechukwu, Convener of The Change We Need Nigeria Initiative (TCWNNI), has encouraged politicians to deliver good governance rather than palliatives to mitigate the effects of the elimination of gasoline subsidies.

The remark was delivered by Ilechukwu, the General Overseer of Charismatic Renewal Ministries (CRM), at the 14th edition of the TCWNNI Project in Abuja. “What Nigerians require is good governance, not palliatives.”

“If things are done well, we don’t need palliatives,” he went on to say. He stated that it was past time for Nigerians to demand responsibility and good governance from their federal and state leaders. “We must demand it because it is our right.”

If we ask others to lead us, we expect them to do so successfully. “That is the heart of the social compact.

“Let the common wealth we have bequeathed to you be used for the benefit of all.” Ilechukwu stated that while there had been minor changes in the country since the project’s commencement, much more work remained to be done.

 

“But we are unafraid, and we remain strong.” “Prayer contains an element of perseverance.”So, if you prayed today but did not receive all of the blessings you requested, keep praying because we know we are praying to a God who answers prayers. “So everything we’ve ever wished for will come true.” “That is my faith,” he explained.

According to the priest, the programme was held to pray for the country’s leaders to govern well.

Dr Robert Agbahia, Chairman of the event’s Local Organising Committee, stated that the TCWNNI Project was a yearly event held every October in which people gathered to pray for Nigeria’s prosperity.
