‘Great victory for our democracy’—Ex Adamawa Pension Boss congratulates Fintiri on Supreme Court decision
Former Adamawa State Pension Board Chairman Thomas Madi has congratulated Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court affirmed Fintiri’s win in the March governorship election.
The Supreme Court, chaired by Okoro, dismissed petitions brought by Aishatu Binani of the All-Progressive Congress to overturn Fintiri’s victory.
In a unanimous verdict, the Supreme Court ruled that all petitions lacked merit.
Madi described the verdict as a “major triumph for Nigeria’s constitutional democracy and the rule of law.”
The former pension chairman stated that Nigeria’s democracy has been reinforced by all parties’ devotion to the electoral process and their reliance on the courts in the event of a dispute.
“Congratulations to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Deputy Governor Prof. Kaleptapwa Farauta, and our wonderful party, the People’s Democratic Party, on the legal confirmation of their victory in the governorship election,” the message said.
“This verdict represents a significant triumph for Nigeria’s constitutional democracy and rule of law. The fact that all parties followed the lawful electoral process and relied on our courts in the event of a dispute enhanced our country’s democratic practice.
“Our nation now requires all of us to collaborate to confront our issues and realise our country’s enormous potential.”
