BREAKING: government orders  24-hour curfew as riots continue in Kaduna areas.

Governor Uba Sani, who leads the Kaduna State Security Council, promptly declared a 24-hour curfew in Kaduna and Zaria, as well as the neighbouring districts.

This decision was made after a study of the state’s security situation revealed that criminal forces involved in stealing and destroying private and public property had hijacked the continuing protests.

In a statement issued on Monday, the supervising Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, asked civilians to stay home while security forces worked to ensure their safety and security.

He agreed to reassess the curfew as needed.

The administration urged residents to cooperate with security forces and report suspicious activity.
