Tinubu postpones the FEC meeting, hosts security officials.

President Bola Tinubu has rescheduled this week’s Federal Executive Council for an unannounced date and will instead meet with service chiefs.

The vice president, national security adviser, all service chiefs, inspector general of police, comptroller generals of customs and immigration, and president’s chief of staff are anticipated to attend the meeting.

The impromptu meeting with security chiefs may be linked to the ongoing widespread hunger and hardship protests.

According to reports, Nigerians, mostly youths, are gathering across the country to mark the fifth day of the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests.

On Sunday, President Tinubu called for discussion and a swift halt to the national protests that had erupted since Thursday.

Tinubu stated that his administration is prepared to listen to and address the demonstrators’ issues, confirming that he has heard their voices “loud and clear.”

However, demonstrators have continued to demonstrate in major cities including as Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, and a few other states.
