@ 64 Years: Tinubu Calls for National Youth Conference to Last 30 Days
A 30-day conference for the young of the nation to debate and solve the problems they encounter has been declared by President Bola Tinubu.
During Tuesday’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary Broadcast in Nigeria, Tinubu made this statement.
As soon as feasible, the president will design the conference modes and choose the delegates.
“As we strive to address the current issues, we also keep in mind the importance of empowering the youth of today and tomorrow to use their imagination and creativity for a brighter tomorrow,” he stated during his second Independence Day anniversary broadcast since taking office on May 29, 2023.
We take the lead today thinking about the future we want to leave our children, because we know that they are the ones who will have to build the future if we don’t involve them.
In light of this, it gives me great pleasure to announce the convocation of a National Youth Conference. More than 60% of our population is under the age of 30, and this conference will provide a forum to discuss the many opportunities and threats that this demographic faces.
The text encourages thought-provoking discussions and gives our youth the tools they need to be engaged citizens in the process of constructing our nation. By giving them a say in the policies that impact their daily lives, we are laying the groundwork for a better tomorrow.
Issues like social justice, education, creativity, employment, and security will bring young people from throughout the country together for 30 days at the Confab.
In close collaboration with our youth, via their representatives, we will plan the details of this conference and choose the delegates. As leaders, it is our responsibility to keep the agenda of this confab focused on its objectives.
“The government is committed to building a more inclusive, prosperous, and united Nigeria. We will carefully consider and implement the recommendations and outcomes from this forum.”
In order to ensure Nigeria’s survival, Tinubu’s administration opted to change the country’s political economy and defence architecture.
The President praised the resilience of the Nigerian people, noting that their nation had weathered storms that have brought down others.
The displaced farmers may go back to their fields and increase production, which will lower food costs, according to Tinubu, whose administration is hell-bent on winning the battle against terrorists and robbers.
