Wike laments influx of Almajiri in FCT, forms committee

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has formed a committee to address the inflow of Almajiris in the capital.

Olatunji Disu, the FCT Commissioner of Police, made the disclosure while briefing press following a closed-door security meeting headed by the FCT Minister.

He explained that the minister’s decision is to ensure that security agencies are aware of Almajiri’s activities, particularly their welfare and education.

Despite dismissing enquiries about security dangers in the nation’s capital, Disu urged locals to be security vigilant and report any unusual activities to security services.

The group, which includes the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Department of State Service (DSS), among others, has been asked to report back within two weeks.

Meanwhile, the FCT Commissioner of Police said that the command has apprehended five people for various crimes.
