Ramadan: Governor Fintiri preaches vigilance, love, unity, and peace.

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has congratulated Muslims in the state and all over the world on the start of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement sent by his chief press secretary, Humwashi Wonosoiku, Governor Fintiri stated that Ramadan provides an opportunity for Muslims to rededicate themselves to Allah’s devotion.

Fintiri described Ramadan as a vital pillar of Islam, saying the fasting period humbles the believers, who are supposed to go without sustenance from sunrise to sunset during the month.

As Adamawa Muslims join their counterparts throughout the world to fast during Ramadan, the governor urged vigilance in worship places, adding, “Although the government has put all structures in place to ensure the safety of residents, they have every reason to be vigilant.”

Governor Fintiri asked Nigerians to unify and resist those who seek to exploit their misery or exacerbate divisions.

The governor, who noted that the country has recently seen an increase in division and insecurity, encouraged Nigerians to “work together to bring an end to that.”

He asked Muslims to use the period for spiritual cleansing and healing, as well as to pray for the peace of Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

The governor also took the occasion to encourage followers of all religions to love one another and live in peace, as the state is known for in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

“I congratulate Muslims in Adamawa State on the start of Ramadan since it is a privilege to observe it in 2025; I urge you to use this time to draw closer to Allah and rededicate themselves to the teachings of the Holy Quran as revealed by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“As we seek Allah’s face in this holy month, let us remember the lessons of the holy Prophet and pray sincerely for peace in our country.

As a nation, we can accomplish much more in a peaceful environment, and all that is necessary is love for one another and a willingness to strive for the country’s peace and togetherness.” He said.
