Fufore: Ishaku has gained notoriety for his jaundice Facebook post – Dr. Edgar
The chief of staff to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has come down hard on Ishaku Abbo, the dismissed senator who previously represented Adamawa North in the Senate.
Dr Edgar, in a lengthy post on his social media handle, lambasted Abbo for turning facts on their heads to gain cheap political gain. The chief of staff reminded the sacked senator that he is currently grasping for recognition despite being partyless, and he further admonished Abbo to refrain from his casual attitude towards politics, stating that what goes around comes around.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s reputation has recently been tarnished, particularly through social media, with accusations that he is a religious bigot and a male chauvinist. The issue has gained traction, especially with the death of Hon. Shaibu Babas, Chairman of the Fufore Local Government Council, on April 23, 2025. Some argue that Governor Fintiri did not immediately swear in Mrs Peace Samson Audu, the Fufore Local Government Vice-Chairman, to succeed the deceased because she is a Christian or a woman.
I admit that some people may be genuinely worried or uninformed of the issues. However, many vehement comments are motivated by mischief, blackmail, provocation, or attempts to incite religious conflict. Such conduct is reprehensible.
On a personal level, Senator Ishaku Abbo, for example, called me about the subject but misinterpreted our conversation in his sour Facebook post. Unfortunately.
After working closely with Fintiri for 6 years, first as Head of Service and now as Chief of Staff, I am in a unique position to affirm unequivocally that His Excellency is neither a religious bigot nor a male chauvinist. He is unaffected by religious or other sentiments.
Despite the fact that I am a Christian and His Excellency is a Muslim, he appointed me as his Chief of Staff, placing me as one of his closest confidants who understands how his mind works.
It is worth noting that the majority of the loudest voices on the Fufore problem are APC members and individuals who worked for Senator Aishatu Binani during the 2023 gubernatorial elections. They also did not support the Babas/Peace chairmanship ticket in Fufore. As a result, it is easy to see through the veil of lies and misrepresentations masquerading as support for constitutionalism.
Ironically, in the run-up to the 2023 elections, many of these same people portrayed Governor Fintiri as overly pro-Christian, despite the fact that he is Muslim.
Under his leadership, Governor Fintiri has prioritised inclusivity.
