Madagali Boko Haram Attack: Atiku’s track record in Adamawa erodes his credibility – Adamawa APC

The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over what it called “insensitive and politically charged” comments in the aftermath of the recent Boko Haram attack on Wagga Mongoro in Madagali Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Sunday by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Abdullahi, the APC accused Atiku of using a moment of national grief as a stage for political posturing, rather than showing solidarity with victims and their families.

The party described Atiku’s remarks as both factually flawed and laced with political intent, suggesting that he either lacks a clear understanding of the tragic event or is deliberately twisting the facts for political gain.

The APC further claimed that Atiku’s legacy in Adamawa fails to inspire confidence, alleging that during his time in office, he turned his back on the state—abandoning key projects and prioritizing personal business interests over public welfare.

“When Boko Haram devastated Adamawa—displacing families, destroying homes, and crippling livelihoods—Atiku remained conspicuously silent. Now, as peace and stability are gradually restored under APC governance, he resurfaces—not to heal or unite, but to score cheap political points,” the statement read.
