Adamawa 2027: Bakari will sustain Fintiri’s legacy-Solomon Kumangar

A former Permanent Secretary in Adamawa State, Solomon Kumangar, has thrown his weight behind Dr. Bakari Salihu Girei as the most credible governorship aspirant ahead of the 2027 elections, describing him as the candidate best positioned to consolidate on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Speaking with journalists in Yola, Kumangar said Dr. Bakari stands out among other aspirants due to his track record of transparency, competence, and early engagement with the people.

He noted that, unlike others in the race, Bakari has no hidden records from his years in public and private service, stressing that his career history remains open and verifiable.

“Dr. Bakari Salihu Girei is the only aspirant so far whose records are not shrouded in secrecy. Everywhere he has worked is known to the public, and that speaks volumes about his integrity,” Kumangar said.

He added that Bakari is also the first among the aspirants to publicly unveil a comprehensive agenda for Adamawa State, describing the move as a demonstration of seriousness and preparedness for leadership.

According to him, Bakari’s policy blueprint focuses on key sectors critical to the state’s development, including free education from primary to tertiary levels, women and youth empowerment, and improved healthcare delivery.

“His agenda clearly outlines free education for all, empowerment programmes for women and youths, and free healthcare services for the aged, nursing mothers, and children. He has also prioritised agriculture as a driver of economic growth in the state,” he said.

Kumangar maintained that sustaining the legacy of Governor Fintiri requires a leader with proven administrative experience and a clear vision, qualities he said Bakari possesses.

He, however, urged the people of Adamawa State to remain vigilant and demand accountability from all aspirants seeking public office.

“The people must put all aspirants on their toes. Let them present their records what they did when they held public or civil service positions. Leadership is about service, and those seeking it must be ready to account for their past,” he added.

Kumangar concluded that the 2027 governorship election presents an opportunity for Adamawa residents to deepen good governance by choosing a candidate capable of building on existing foundations rather than starting afresh.
