Adamawa needs leader with integrity to sustain Fintiri’s legacy- Bakari Girei
Dr Salihu Bakari Girei has commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for what he described as tremendous achievements in Adamawa State, saying the state needs a leader with proven integrity to sustain the governor’s legacy beyond 2027.
Bakari Girei stated this during a visit to the palace of the Mbege Ka Michika, His Royal Majesty, Professor Bulus Luka, where he outlined his vision for the state and highlighted some of his past contributions to public service.
According to him, his achievements in previous positions include the construction of schools across the state, provision of learning materials and school uniforms for pupils in primary schools, as well as facilitating the payment of salaries in some local government areas.
He said that if given the opportunity to lead the state, his administration would prioritise strengthening traditional institutions, improving rural infrastructure and expanding access to healthcare services.
Bakari Girei further pledged to provide free medical treatment for the elderly, women and children, while also promising a one hundred per cent review of pensions to improve the welfare of retirees.
He added that his administration would focus on revamping the educational system through the provision of free learning materials and improved welfare packages for teachers.
The governorship hopeful also promised to introduce policies aimed at poverty eradication and comprehensive reforms in the civil service to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Responding, the Mbege Ka Michika, His Royal Majesty, Professor Bulus Luka, praised Bakari Girei for his unwavering commitment to the development of education in Adamawa State and the country at large.
The traditional ruler said Bakari Girei’s record of achievements demonstrated that he possesses both the vision and the capacity to lead the state effectively.
He offered prayers for the success of his ambition and asked God to grant him his heart’s desires.
