Adamawa Central youths declare Abbati sole candidate for 2027 Senate race

Youth leaders and stakeholders from the Adamawa Central Senatorial District have declared total support for Aliyu Abdulhameed Abbati to represent the zone in the Senate in 2027, describing him as the most credible and widely accepted aspirant for the position.

The endorsement was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by youths, community leaders, women groups and political supporters drawn from the seven local government areas that make up the senatorial district.

Speaking at the gathering, the convener of the meeting, Musa Adamu, said the decision to back Abbati followed extensive consultations across the district and careful consideration of the political needs of the people ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the youths resolved to present Abbati as the consensus and unopposed candidate for the Senate seat, stressing that his leadership qualities, grassroots connection and commitment to the development of the zone distinguished him from other aspirants.

He said the district could not afford unnecessary political divisions at a time when unity and collective purpose were needed to secure effective representation at the National Assembly.

Adamu urged other aspirants nursing senatorial ambitions to collapse their political structures and join forces with Abbati in the interest of the district, insisting that a united front would strengthen the chances of Adamawa Central in the forthcoming elections.

“We have carefully assessed all the aspirants and we are convinced that Aliyu Abdulhameed Abbati possesses the capacity, experience and vision required to represent Adamawa Central effectively in the Senate. We therefore call on all other aspirants to support this collective project for the benefit of our people,” he said.

Several youth leaders who spoke at the event described Abbati as a bridge builder and detribalised politician capable of attracting development projects and empowering young people across the district.

The meeting ended with a unanimous voice vote endorsing Abbati as the sole candidate of the youths for the 2027 senatorial contest.
