Michika stands still as Stakeholders endorse Nyampa for return to National Assembly
The city of Michika on Thursday witnessed one of the largest political gatherings in its history as thousands of stakeholders, party officials, loyalists, traditional leaders, women and youth groups turned out in solidarity with Zakaria Dauda Nyampa over his third term bid for the House of Representatives.
The event, which took place at the Civic Centre in Michika, attracted participants from across the nooks and crannies of the twin local government areas of the constituency.
Speaking during the occasion, Nyampa expressed appreciation to God and the people of his constituency for the overwhelming show of support.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the lawmaker said: “Today, I lack words to express my deepest gratitude to you because of your unwavering support and solidarity. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent you twice at the Green Chamber. I do not take this for granted.
“As your member in the House of Representatives, since stepping into the hallowed chamber, I have worked assiduously to attract numerous developmental projects to our constituency aside from my primary responsibilities of lawmaking and oversight, despite being in the opposition at the time.”
Nyampa emphasised the importance of experience, continuity and progress in parliamentary representation, informing the gathering that he was seeking their blessings for a third term in the National Assembly.
“Today, with the help of God and your acceptance, I am seeking your support and blessings for a third term to represent you in the National Assembly for the betterment of our constituency,” he said.
The lawmaker highlighted the advantages of having a ranking member in the National Assembly, noting that such status provides greater authority to secure strategic committee leadership positions, influence legislation and attract more developmental projects to the constituency.
He therefore sought the continued cooperation of the people, stressing that the constituency stood to benefit more from the federation, particularly now that he is a member of the ruling party.
Nyampa also praised Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for what he described as his tremendous achievements in Adamawa State and urged residents of Adamawa North, particularly those in Michika and Madagali, to support the governor’s senatorial ambition.
Several speakers at the event commended Nyampa’s commitment to the development of the constituency and assured him of their unflinching support during both the party primaries and the general election.
They unanimously pledged to return him to the National Assembly as a “Three Star General” to continue the work he had started for the constituency.
