Fintiri urges Adamawa residents to strengthen peace and unity ahead of elections
The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has urged residents to recommit themselves to building a peaceful and harmonious society, saying unity remains essential to sustaining progress and securing the state’s future.
In his Eid el Kabir message to Muslims in Adamawa and across Nigeria, Fintiri said the celebration should serve as a period of reflection, sacrifice and renewed commitment to both faith and civic responsibility.
He congratulated Muslims on the festival and extended wishes of peace to all Nigerians, stressing that the country’s future depends largely on the choices and actions of its people, particularly as political activities gather pace ahead of another election cycle.
Fintiri said Adamawa and Nigeria could only enjoy lasting prosperity where peace and social cohesion are protected.
He called on citizens to confront the social and political challenges facing the country and to use the occasion to deepen their devotion to God and strengthen relationships within their communities.
According to the governor, Eid el Kabir offers an opportunity for reflection on human purpose, renewed commitment to moral values and greater obedience to the will of Allah.
He urged leaders and citizens alike to embrace the principles of hope, sacrifice and renewal, which he described as central to the message of the festival.
Fintiri said despite periods of uncertainty and national challenges, Nigerians should remain thankful for the blessings of peace, love and collective resilience.
He said difficult moments should not define the country’s future, adding that challenges present opportunities to rebuild and create a better tomorrow.
The governor said his administration remains committed to laying foundations for long term development and encouraged Nigerians to remain determined and optimistic about the country’s prospects.
He called on citizens to reject pessimism and continue working towards a stronger and more prosperous nation.
