Dangote slashes PMS by ₦50, diesel by ₦80 per litre

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel, in a move aimed at making fuel more affordable for consumers and businesses.

The refinery announced on Wednesday that the new prices would take effect from Thursday, August 6, as part of its commitment to supplying high-quality petroleum products at competitive prices.

Under the revised pricing structure, the ex-depot price of PMS has been reduced by ₦50 per litre to ₦1,165 from the previous ₦1,215 per litre.

The ex-depot price of diesel has also been cut by ₦80 per litre, falling to ₦1,570 per litre from ₦1,650.

According to the company, the price adjustment reflects its ongoing efforts to improve energy affordability, expand access to refined petroleum products and support economic activities across the country.

The refinery said it remains committed to ensuring a stable supply of petroleum products while leveraging operational efficiencies to deliver greater value to consumers, businesses and other stakeholders.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery added that, as Africa’s largest refinery, it continues to play a significant role in strengthening Nigeria’s energy security by reducing dependence on imported refined products and supporting economic development through the supply of high-quality fuels.

The company said it would continue to pass on the benefits of improved operational efficiencies to consumers whenever market conditions allow, while maintaining reliable supply to the domestic market.
