Fintiri pledges to complete Adamawa projects as Nigeria marks 66 years of independence

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has pledged that no ongoing project initiated by his administration will be abandoned, as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Fintiri, in a message commemorating the anniversary, said his government remained committed to completing projects across the state and delivering sustainable infrastructure capable of improving livelihoods and leaving a lasting legacy.

The governor congratulated Nigerians, particularly the people of Adamawa State, describing the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the country’s journey since independence and renew confidence in its future.

He paid tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers, including Nnamdi Azikiwe, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Obafemi Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello, as well as other nationalists whose struggles and sacrifices contributed to the country’s independence.

Fintiri said the founding generation’s vision of a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria remained a collective responsibility that must be sustained by present and future generations.

The governor also praised the Nigerian military and other security agencies for what he described as their gallantry, patriotism and commitment to protecting the country and preserving its unity.

He acknowledged the sacrifices of security personnel confronting challenges across the country, saying their service and contribution to national stability would not be forgotten.

Fintiri also commended Nigerians for their resilience and patience amid prevailing economic and social difficulties, describing the people as enterprising and determined.

Turning to Adamawa, the governor thanked residents for their support, prayers and cooperation with his administration.

He said the partnership between the government and the people had helped his administration deliver development across sectors and advance efforts to position Adamawa as a destination for business, investment and conferences.

Fintiri assured residents that his administration would remain focused on completing ongoing projects and strengthening infrastructure and development across the state.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria could overcome its current challenges through unity, collective effort and renewed commitment to national development.

The governor wished Nigerians, particularly the people of Adamawa State, a peaceful and happy 66th Independence Anniversary.
