2027: North-Central APC leaders rally behind Tinubu
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has led a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders from the state to endorse President Bola Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement took place on Saturday at Lafia Square, Nasarawa State, during a gathering attended by APC leaders, elected officials and supporters from the six North-Central states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement issued in Jos, the governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, said Mutfwang joined other prominent party leaders in expressing support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Among those present were the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; and governors from the region.
Speaking at the event, Mutfwang declared the support of Plateau APC stakeholders for the President, expressing confidence in his leadership and economic reform programme.
He said the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda offered opportunities for economic growth, agricultural transformation, infrastructure development and job creation.
According to the governor, another four years under Tinubu would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms and strengthen development across critical sectors of the economy.
Mutfwang acknowledged the economic hardship and security challenges confronting Nigerians but urged citizens to support government efforts to restore stability and improve national security.
He maintained that addressing the country’s challenges required purposeful leadership, collective responsibility and sustained cooperation among political leaders and other stakeholders.
The governor described the gathering as a demonstration of unity among APC leaders in the North-Central region and their commitment to the administration’s development agenda.
The statement said the endorsement reflected confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and support for continuity in governance.
The Plateau delegation included Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo, the governor’s wife, Helen Mutfwang, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Naanlong Daniel, and Chief of Staff Jeremiah Satmak.
Others included former Governor Joshua Dariye, former Deputy Governor Pauline Tallen, Special Adviser on Political Affairs Istifanus Mwansat, APC candidates and other party stakeholders.
