Adamawa State Govt. to partners IPAC on credible elections
Gov. Mohammed Bindow said that the partnership between the state government and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) was critical to the success of credible 2019 general elections in the state.
Bindow gave the indication on Tuesday while receiving members of the IPAC who paid him a courtesy visit in Government House Yola.
The governor said that the contribution of the IPAC would assist the state to witness non violent general elections.
He assured the council of his determination to contribute to the activities of the IPAC in the state.
He directed the leadership of the council to forward all their demands to his office for necessary actions.
Earlier, Alhaji Jaafaru Baba-Girei solicited the government to ensure collection of 120,000 Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) still uncollected from INEC.
Baba-Girei also urged the state government to improve more on the voters Education to ensure adequate participation of the people in the electioneering process in the state.
He assured the governor that the coming elections would be violent free, adding that the IPAC has written an MoU with the police to arrest any Youth Leaders whose his party would recruit thugs during the elections.
He however, solicited for the government assistance in the provision of an office, take off grant among other things.
NAN reports that IPAC is an association of political parties whose conducts are guided by INEC.
