‘Bala Ngillari paid himself and he is in a better position to pay Boni, Nyako’- Abdulrahman

.Resign and join politics, Abdulrahman Lambast Kumangar

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa state, Honourable Danjuma Abdulrahman, has counselled Mr. Solomon Kumangar, self acclaim Media Aide to the Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to resign as a civil servant and join politics so as to enable him more opportunity to act as a script writer and media aide to politicians.  Hon. Abdulrahman gave the advice while reacting to the statement credited to Mr. Kumangar’s accusing His Excellency, Senator Mohammed Umar Jibrilla, of paying himself and his cabinet severance allowances even before the expiration of his tenure.

The APC stalwart who took his time to educate Mr. Kumangar and other with little knowledge of governance, informed him to note that, there is no law that refrains a sitting Governor from paying himself and that of his cabinet severance allowances.  So many governors have been doing that before Governor Bindow. Hence, he said there is nothing wrong with Governor Jibrilla paying himself severance allowances. Consequently, Hon Abdulrahman stressed that the reason why some of Governor Jibrilla’s predecessors could not pay themselves their severance allowances was because they were faced with issues of impeachment.

He said “former Governor Boni Haruna couldn’t pay himself his severance allowances because he was then in battle royale with his deputy and as well facing impeachment threat that is why he failed to pay himself and his cabinet severance allowances.” “While Murtala Hammanyero Nyako, failure was due to his unceremonial impeachment by Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s led Members of the State Assembly.”

Moreover, he added that Fintiri who took over from Nyako as Acting Governor, then, failed to pay himself because of the sudden termination of his tenure by a Court of Law that ordered Nyako”s deputy, Barrister Bala James Ngillari to take over the mantle of leadership from him (Fintiri).” However, Abdulrahman noted that “Barrister Ngillari that has no distraction paid himself and his cabinet severance allowances as he is in a better position to pay the duo of Boni Haruna and Nyako severance allowances before handing over the power to Governor Jibrilla. Therefore, there is nothing bad with Bindow following the suit of others to pay himself his severance allowances,” the APC stalwart counselled.
