Nasarawa organizes free JAMB CBT training for candidates

Ahead of this year’s Joint Administration Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination scheduled to hold this month, the Nasarawa State Government has organized a training to expose candidates from the state, to Computer Based Test (CBT).

The free JAMB CBT training took place in Lafia, at the recently commissioned Lafia JAMB CBT centre, on Wednesday.

The training was organized by the Office of the Personal Assistant to the Nasarawa State Governor on Youths and Students Matters, in collaboration with all local government chairmen.

Prospective UTME candidates were coached on time management and how to approach examination questions.

In his welcome address, PA to Engineer Abdullahi Sule on Youths and Students Matters, Abubakar Yamani Yammani, said the training became necessary following the mass failure during the 2019 UTME, mostly as a result of inability to operate the computer.

Yammani disclosed that the free training exercise will be replicated across all the local government headquarters, under the supervision of the local government chairmen.

While commending Engineer Sule for the initiative, Yammani noted that the training will add value to the students, as well as expose them to CBT.

“It is my topmost priority and prayer that after this laudable program Nasarawa State will become the best performing state in Nigeria,” the PA on Youths and Students Matters said.
