Fintir’s aide, Love Zidon, exposed for posting fake news, photo about Adamawa state government’s planned 2000 housing units
A media aide to Governor Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, Mr. Zidon Love, has been exposed for posting a fake photograph, allegedly of Fintiri’s plan 2000 housing units.
Also, one Facebook user named Abu Sule posted the same picture and tagged it “This is federal government housing estate in Gombe not Fintiri’s 2000 housing units that is yet to commence despite obtaining 9.9 billion naira loan since last year”. Shameless, to say the least.”
The Facebook post has since garnered over 1,939 shares and 152 comments as of the time of filing this report.
The exposure was made possible by the collaborative verification of journalists under the aegis of The Finder Fact Check.
It was also reviewed by International Centre for Investigative Reporting.
Zidon had claimed that governor Fintiri has activated the construction of 2000 houses at Malkohi, Yola South, Adamawa state seeing is believeing.
Using his verified facebook page, @lovezidon, Zidon had posted an image supposedly from the building of the 2000 housing units in Malkohi.

While the post has garnered multiple shares, we have found the image to be recycled and manipulated.
Having reversed search the image, we found that the same first appeared online in February 2017 during the launch of the FG housing units in Gombe and Jigawa state.
The same image was reused to publicise a showcase President Buhari’s achievements in the housing units for civil servants.
In essence, the photograph predated the alleged Fintiri plan 2000 housing units by at least 19 months.
We, therefore, submit that this image does not support the claim that the pictures posted by Fintiri’s aide, Zidon Love is that of Adamawa state government housing units in Malkohi, but that of Federal government housing units for civil servant. The photograph had been online over 19 months before Fintiri plan to build 2000 units.
