NGO to track Governor Fintiri’s post-election promises

Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri will have his post-election promises tracked to see how faithful he would be to them, a prominent local civil society group behind the initiative said Monday.

“Fintiri Metre is a tracking platform to track implementation of all his 174 promises since his inauguration as governor of Adamawa state,” Pwasaato Benjamin, director of the Center for leaders Evaluation and accountability forum, told THE FINDER shortly after the launch. “We were able to track 174 post-election promises for Fintiri.”

“Now post-election, what we are doing is to monitor the implementation of every campaign promise and the whole idea is to promote democratic accountability.”

The launch of the Fintiri Metre was attended by prominent civil society leaders in the Nigerian capital Abuja, where initiators took turns to explain how it works.

A website for the Fintiri Metre has also been launched.

According to The Finder fact check, Fintiri has made about 2556 promises and false claims since he assumed office as Governor of the state.
