Group disagree with Fintiri over 20m KEKE NAPEP palliatives, says free movement remain the best option

The chairman, Adamawa united for change, Alhaji Usman Kawu, has carpeted Governor Ahamdu Umaru Fintiri over his recent claim that he has given 20 million naira to rick shaw drivers (KEKE NAPEP) operator in Adamawa to cushion the effect of the curfew impose on the state penultimate Monday.

Kawu said it was time for Fintiri to admit that he was bereft of ideas on how to run the state.

“What the people need now is for the governor to return free movement to yola and close all the boarders linking the state as done by other north-eastern state in Nigeria not giving Greek gift to KEKE NAPEP operators, how do you they think they can share the money to this KEKE driver? What database are they going to use? Mind you if Fintiri give money to KEKE drivers what of those that are not among the drivers

Kawu said: “It is most uncharitable for Fintiri to make such a claim, and it appears whenever the governor speaks, he does not rely on truth or verifiable information in the public domain.

“How would any person agree that this so called 20 million naira will reach the drivers, if he could not provide succour to a common man he should relax the curfew, there is no one or single positive thing that happened to enrich the profile of legacies in this Adamawa since May 2015? Why is he limiting the socio-economic stagnation to Bindow’s tenure and overlooking his coup constituency that over throw Nyako in 2014?”

Kawu said it was regrettable that a whole governor will lie to the state and misinform the citizenry, “even when he has not been able to come up with any intervention programme as workable and effective during this lock down announced by him.”

He advised Fintiri not to “continue to bore the citizenry already disgusted with his dismal performance by attempting to hold past administrations responsible for his ineptitude, but should rise to the occasion by exhibiting some pragmatism in governance such as providing succour to the poorest of the poor this perilous time.”

He warned that the economic recession would worsen in the days ahead because the Fintiri administration has not known how to go about reversing the curfew impose on the state since the corona virus outbreak.
