The authorities of Adamawa State College of education, Hong have fixed towards ending of October 2020, for the resumption of students for the first semester 2019/2020 academic calendar.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Provost of the college, Prof. Johnson Pongri in Yola on Friday.

He said the college would reopen for lectures and revisions towards October ending.

He called on all students to strictly abide by COVID-19 protocols to prevent the spread of coronavirus among members of the college community.

Taking into consideration the protocols of Covid- 19 as directed by the Federal and State governments which comprises use of hand sanitizers, facemasks, temperature checks and many more guidelines, he said the school has not fully prepared to resume on October 12th, 2020 but will surely resume towards the ending of this month of October 2020.

“In our last council meeting we have discussed modalities to rehabilitate the boreholes to get more water in the school, fumigate all the classrooms, hostels and offices, cutting/spraying of grasses, purchase of hand sanitizers, facemasks and thermometers for temperature check and as well designate a portion in their clinic to serve as an isolation centre”.

The Provost assured that the management of the college is working hard to meet at least ninety percent of covid 19 reopening requirements before   resumption.

The Provost appeals to parents and guardians to contribute to the success of meeting the covid 19 reopening guidelines by contributing at least two face and hand sanitizer to their children.

“The school Unions, Management and Staff have pledged to assist them”.

However, the Provost appeals to well-meaning Nigerians and non-governmental organization to come to the aid of the college with anything that can help to boost the learning in the institution.
