Workers’ Day: You Are An Important Part Of My Administration’s Success Story, Fintiri Tells Labour

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, joined thousands of workers to observe the 2023 May Day Celebration, calling for labour to cooperate with his government to ensure the state’s prosperity and development.

Governor Fintiri urged the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to continue to be a part of his administration’s success story, noting that most union members, who are technocrats in the civil service and other government functionaries, are among those who implement policies to achieve his administration’s giant strides.

Governor Fintiri also urged labour to constantly engage in discussion and interaction, as the government is open to look into their requests when properly handled.

“Labour should always engage the government constructively and suggest a path forward.” And praise us when we do the right thing. It is about working together to guarantee that our state advances. Labour must examine concerns and respond accordingly.

“Every nation’s pride is its workforce.” Workers are the lifeblood of any productive economy and the key to global sustainable growth.

In Adamawa, our workers have demonstrated an unusual sense of patriotism, sacrifice, and perseverance throughout the years, as many have paid the ultimate price in pursuing our state aim of attempting to construct a state where peace and justice reign.”

“Today, many workers across Nigeria and Adamawa State are having their faith and hopes tested by the pressures of the economic realities of the time.”

Despite these difficulties, workers have chosen to devote their efforts to the noble cause of creating a better society for all.

“We owe our workers the gratitude of justice, the reward of dignity, and the honour of freedom every day of their lives and everywhere they work for these and many other reasons.”

“On behalf of the Adamawa state government and myself, I would like to wish all Nigerian workers a happy May Day.”
