Fubara Approves N85,000 Minimum Wage For Civil Servants In Rivers
Public officials in Rivers State would be required to pay a minimum wage of N85,000.
George Nwaeke, head of the state’s service, revealed the approval during a closed-door meeting with labour leaders and top government officials. The announcement was made by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The increased minimum salary will be put into place immediately, according to Nwaeke, who verified it after the meeting.
The Joint Negotiation Team Chairman, Chukwu Emecheta, and his colleagues commended Governor Fubara for living up to the aspirations of the people of Rivers State.
He lauded the governor’s dedication to the workforce.
Additionally, Alex Agwanwor, who is the chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Rivers State, made a point about how the minimum wage will help workers in the state who are struggling financially.
