Anambra 2025: Ezenwafor emerges PDP governorship candidate
Chief Jude Ezenwafor, an Abuja-based real estate tycoon, has chosen as the Peoples Democratic Party’s flag candidate for the next Anambra State governorship election on November 8, 2025.
Ezenwafor, the PDP’s sole candidate, was unanimously backed by 853 delegates from the state’s 21 local government chapters at the party’s primary on Tuesday at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka.
He was the lone candidate to purchase the party’s N40 million nomination form for the governorship primary election.
Approximately 14 national delegates were also accredited to participate in the election.
Col. Chijioke Onwubuya (retd), the chairman of the PDP National Committee tasked with overseeing the party’s governorship primary, named Ezenwafor the winner.
Despite the fact that Ezenwafor was the only contestant, each delegate was given a ballot paper on which to write the name of the candidate for whom they had voted.
The delegates voted according to their local governments, with the national delegates casting the first voting.
Speaking after the primary, Ezenwafor thanked the delegates for their support and asked them to work together to guarantee the party wins the governorship election on November 8.
“I appreciate all of the delegates for their overwhelming support and endorsement. We will work tirelessly to guarantee that our party wins the governorship race,” he continued.
