Tinubu Begins France, Kenya, Rwanda Trip For Investment, Climate Summits

President Bola Tinubu will on Saturday depart Abuja for a multi country diplomatic trip to France, Kenya and Rwanda, where he is expected to participate in high level summits on economic growth, investment, climate action and strategic partnerships.

The President’s itinerary was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Tinubu’s first stop will be France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, for the Africa France Summit scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12.

The summit, to be co chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on issues including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of the global financing architecture and climate action.

The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation highlights Nigeria’s commitment to deepening strategic partnerships with African countries and France.

The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” is expected to bring together African leaders and French counterparts to deliberate on economic transformation, climate resilience, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, technological advancement and peace building initiatives.

After the Kenya engagement, Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the annual Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14 to May 15.

The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to attract more than 2,000 private sector leaders, investors and policymakers to discuss strategies for accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration, shared scale and increased cross border investment.

Organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, the forum is regarded as one of Africa’s largest gatherings of business executives and government leaders.

At both summits, Tinubu is expected to showcase his administration’s economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading destination for investment and growth.

He is also expected to hold meetings with top African and global business executives during the trip.

The President will be accompanied by ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to Nigeria after the Rwanda summit.
