Fintiri names Boss Mustapha to Northern Security Trust Fund board

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has approved the appointment of former Boss Mustapha, CFR, as Adamawa State’s representative on the Board of Trustees of the Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund.

The governor said the appointment underscores his administration’s commitment to strengthening the region’s security architecture and ensuring Adamawa State is effectively represented in strategic decisions aimed at protecting lives and property.

According to Fintiri, Mustapha’s extensive experience in public service, leadership credentials and national standing make him well suited for the role.

“His wealth of experience in public service, proven leadership capacity, and national stature make Boss Mustapha eminently qualified to effectively represent the interests of Adamawa State on this all-important Board,” the governor said.

The Northern Nigeria Security Trust Fund was established by the Northern Governors’ Forum as a sub-national initiative to complement the work of security agencies. The fund is designed to improve intelligence coordination, provide operational logistics, strengthen inter-state collaboration and support community-based security initiatives across the 19 northern states.

Governor Fintiri expressed concern over the worsening security situation in the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria, citing the rise in banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and communal clashes. He said the creation of the Trust Fund by the Northern Governors’ Forum represents a proactive regional response to tackle the challenges and restore peace.

Congratulating Mustapha on the appointment, the governor described it as recognition of his integrity, competence and longstanding commitment to national development.

“I am confident that he will bring his vast experience to bear in advancing the objectives of the Trust Fund, fostering synergy among states, and ensuring that Adamawa’s voice is heard in the collective quest for a safer Northern Nigeria,” Fintiri said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with federal and regional stakeholders to enhance security and safeguard the lives and wellbeing of citizens.

The statement was signed by Humwashi Wonosikou.
