Adamawa Christian youth to Bishop Mamza;’ CAN has tilted into politics under your watch’

A group of concern Christian youth group has advised the leadership of the CAN in the state not to interfere in the youwican electioneering process. Mr Nicholas Shaida, coordinator of the group on Tuesday gave the advice in an interview with the Finder news in Yola. Shaida regretted why the CAN leadership would be giving undue interference by setting unnecessary criteria for the contest which is aimed at the emergence of their prepared candidate.

He also advised Bishop Steven Damni Mamza against politicisation of CAN, insisting that the association is gradually nose-diving into politics.
He warned that if the association which is aimed at harnessing intra church differences rather causing disharmony among Christians becomes a deviation of the original objective of the Union. He vowed to fight and expose some of the administrative misdeeds of the present CAN leadership if it doesn’t refrain from it divisive tendencies and unwholesome political associations and as well the planed conversion of CAN as a platform to achieve Margi Domination in the state.

“We are worried that CAN is almost becoming an appendage of the opposition PDP, evidently demonstrated during the last general elections in the state. ” Also the negative utterances against the Federal government has become a matter of worry as CAN has turn itself to an attack dog which is a total deviation from its original objective. We are calling on Mamza not to turn CAN into a Margi ethno-political platform as well Catholic secretariats.

“We also want to express our enormous concern on how the youwican politics is becoming heated in the state with the undue interference of the CAN leadership.” The unnecessary setting of standards for the contest is a strategy to favour an individual against others which is so alien to CAN ‘, Shaida insisted.
