The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mohammed Bello joined the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to commission township roads in Boss Mustapha’s ancestral home in Hong local government of Adamawa state.

Bello commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for embarking on the road projects and painstakingly executing them to completion.

The Minister made the commendation while commissioning the 3.2km township road constructed by Gov. Fintiri in Hong, Hong, local government Area of Adamawa State.

While commissioning the 3.5 kilometres road, Bello said, “the main priority of President Buhari’s administration is infrastructural developments, and the most significant infrastructure you can give to any community is a road.

Therefore I want to inform you that Mr President is proud of you and is happy to associate with you,” he said.

While congratulating the people of Adamawa and the Hong community in particular for having Fintiri at the helms of affairs, the Minister sued for peaceful coexistence among divergent communities and urged them to continue to pray for the success of the present administration.

This road stretches from European Quarters, Plot, Anguwan Hausawa, Wuro Dole and Waja wards in Hong town.

On his part, Fintiri said that “the project we are about to commission today is the 3.2 km urban road with proper drainage and that it is part of their package for urban renewal campaign and hope to sustain it until all urban centres and semi-urban centres wear a befitting look not only for ecstasies but also for their teeming populace’s comfort and convenience and visiting investors.

“The urban renewal campaign is a reality. The plan is a carefully crafted policy which aims to raise the standard of our State capital to attract investors to the State and equally to improve the infrastructural status of our semi-urban centers.”

“Away from the State capital, we have sensibly selected a number of semi-urban centres for infrastructural facelift. This is partly, our mitigation measures against a retarding rural-urban drift.”

“It is hoped that these semi-urban centres, once elevated to cosmopolitan hubs will serve as holding points for the clusters of communities around them and our hardworking population who would ordinarily be attracted to the cities by municipal trappings.”

Governor Fintiri stated that while working hard on the urban renewal campaign, they have not lost sight of the need to open up rural areas for access.

He added that they went to Toungo to celebrate their connection to the National Grid last week and announced that they hope to connect Fadama Rake and the environs to the National Grid before the end of the year.

To demonstrate good faith in their sustainability, he declared a second leg of the Hong project by extending it from European Quarters to Government Lodge linked to Mubi Road and urged the project’s contractors to remain in Hong.

At the same time, they sort out all the necessary procurement process for the new extension. Governor Fintiri commended the contractor for delivering the project according to specifications.

He called on the State’s people to continue to support his administration with prayers to enable them to provide all their campaign promises.
