‘You Will Pay If You Hurt Anyone’, Fubara Warns Rivers Politicians

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has issued a warning to political players in the state against using violence, threatening to pay for any injuries done to any person in the name of politics.

Fubara warned during the flag-off of Elele-Omoku Road construction in the oil-rich South-South state on Thursday.

He chastised state local government chairmen to behave themselves and keep quiet until their terms were up.

“Some people went there and attacked our people the day we left Aleso. That is not necessary. Violence belongs to no one. Though I should be the one to say that I would do particular things, I don’t have to because both sides are my.

I am so counselling those who identify as chairmen of local governments: please behave yourselves; you only have a few days in office. Politics come and go, but we shall continue to live.

“Let no one fool you; you will pay for it if you intentionally hurt someone in the name of showing your pointless support. Nobody will forgive you.I thus implore everyone to behave themselves,” Fubara remarked.

The governor claimed to be the most mistreated person in the state, yet he has not wavered in the face of grave provocations. He begged everybody to keep their cool and for peace to rule the state.

Actually, I am the most mistreated; ‘Mumu’governor wey no know what to do with authority’, (sic). Not so, is it? Am I missing anything? I thus ask that you just bear with it till you get to your destination; I don’t want any problems.

He promised to deny his critics the chance to inflame state politics.

The governor declared he had given President Bola Tinubu, the head of state, his word that he would uphold the agreement and take part in peace.
